Still deciding?
Here’s what most people want to know before they start. Anything else, ask us on a free call.
Book a free callWhat happens if I don’t have a will?
The law decides who inherits, not you. An unmarried partner gets nothing automatically, and there is no say in who looks after your children. A will settles all of this.
Is my will legally binding?
Yes, once it is signed correctly. In England and Wales you sign in ink, with two witnesses in the room who are not inheriting anything. We send a clear signing guide and check your will when it comes back.
Which will do I need?
If your wishes are straightforward, our online will is usually all you need. Couples usually make two matching wills, one each. If you own property abroad, our international will keeps your wills working together. If you have stepchildren or a business, or just want someone to ask, book a call and we’ll work it out with you.
How long does it take?
Most people finish the online questions in about 20 minutes. Your will arrives by 4pm the next day, then we print and post it. International wills take up to 48 hours.
Can I change my will later?
Yes. Changes are free for the first year. After that, each change is £49, and we confirm the price before we start. There is no subscription, and nothing renews.
What is a lasting power of attorney?
It lets someone you trust handle your money and make health decisions for you, if you ever can’t do it yourself. It has to be registered with the government, which charges £184 for money and health together. We pass that on at cost.
I have property or family abroad. Can you help?
Yes. Our international will makes sure your English will and any will you have in another country work together. We do not give foreign legal or tax advice, and will tell you if you need it.
Is Blanket a firm of solicitors?
No. Blanket is a will-writing service, and every will is prepared by our experts. If your situation needs a solicitor, we’ll tell you.
Will I talk to the same person each time?
Yes. You get your own expert, with their name and how to reach them, from the start. They look after everything and are still there when life changes. If they’re ever away, a named colleague who knows your file steps in. You’ll always talk to a real person, never a chatbot.
